WildFire Marketing Clients Make Publishing Headlines

At WildFire Marketing, we celebrate with former and current clients when they reach major achievements and milestones. These authors made recent publishing headlines that we just couldn’t keep to ourselves!

Wanda Brunstetter Surpasses 7 Million Copies Sold in Book Sales
Bestselling novelist, Wanda Brunstetter, surpassed the 7 million mark in book sales according to her publisher, Barbour Books. It was little more than a year ago when she celebrated the 6 million mark. Wanda’s novels have appeared on numerous bestseller lists, including the New York Times, USA Today, CBA, and ECPA. With connections to the Amish community through her family heritage, Wanda enjoys writing her award-winning Amish novels, such as the Discovery Saga and The Tattered Quilt, because they portray a simpler, more peaceful life and convey the strong family values that she holds dear.

We congratulate Wanda and Barbour Publishers on this rare accomplishment! To learn more about Wanda and the consulting provided by WildFire Marketing, click here.

Valorie Burton to Appear as Featured Guest on NBC Today Show on Weds., October 2nd
WildFire Marketing client, Valorie Burton, will appear on the NBC Today Show as a featured guest on Wednesday, October 2nd. Her interview supports the new book, Happy Women Live Better, published by Harvest House with publicity support provided by Pure Publicity.

Recent studies show that happiness among women has declined since the 1970’s due to the increased pressures of balancing work and family life. Valorie’s appearance on The Today Show kicks off her book launch and kickstarts a national movement to help women reclaim their happiness.

WildFire Marketing built Valorie’s author website, helped develop her manuscript content, and created the marketing campaign for Valorie’s new book, which includes a free online assessment, dynamic video trailer, and a $5,000 prize pack giveaway. Unglued by Lysa TerKeurst Returns to New York Times Bestseller List
WildFire Marketing congratulates Lysa TerKeurst and HarperCollins Christian Publishing on the continued success of her latest book, Unglued, which returned to the New York Times bestseller list this week at # 6 on the Advice, How-To, Miscellaneous category. Unglued was originally published in August, 2012 and stayed on the bestseller lists for several weeks.

Very few books return to the bestseller list over a year after publication, which shows the combined marketing power of Lysa’s author platform and the promotional capability of her publisher. Lysa is no stranger to the bestseller lists after the success of her previous book, Made to Crave, which spent over 25 weeks on the New York Times paperback advice bestseller list.

We congratulate these three authors and wish them continued success!

Many authors quietly assume their publisher is better at marketing books than they are. This perspective isn’t foolish—it’s actually logical. But, this mindset also puts the author’s book at far greater risk than they might realize. Most authors don’t come from marketing backgrounds. They’re professors, counselors, pastors, executives, clinicians, artists, parents, or first-time authors who

Relying on your publisher to market a book can be a risky mistake. Here is what authors should do instead.
